The Vizsla Pitbull mix (also known as the Vizsla Pit) is a cross between the Vizsla and the American Pit Bull Terrier and comes from the combination of two popular purebred dogs in their own right. A combination of these breeds was inevitable, but did it occur before or after 2008? Perhaps we can learn something about this dog if we know when this crossbreed first appeared. Origin

The Vizsla-Pitbull mix, also known as Vizsla Pitbull Mix and Pit Bull Vizsla Mix, is one of the most popular designer crossbreeds in the United States. Pitbull Vizsla mixes are considered designer dogs, but their exact origin is still unknown. However, it is evident that they are very new to the scene and were probably developed by a group of people looking to cross the greatest qualities of the Pitbull and Vizsla breeds. Unfortunately, since the Pitbull Vizsla Mix is a crossbreed, no kennel club, including the American Kennel Club, recognizes them (AKC)

The first time this combination was used to describe this particular dog breed was in 2004 by TLC’s It’s Me or the Dog show on Animal Planet to describe Bam Bam, an orange and white-coated Vizsla Pit mix that was featured on the program.

These dogs were created as a result of the horrific dog sport known as bull baiting. After the British Parliament outlawed this dog sport, the public’s attention turned to the sports of ratting and dog fighting.

The Pitbull’s loyalty and amiable personality are due to the breed’s careful selection during breeding and culling, which was done to reduce human hostility. Since being imported to America, these bulldogs have flourished as all-around farm dogs. The breed is known as American Pitbull Terrier by the UKC. The American Kennel Club, however, recognized the breed as the American Staffordshire Terrier.

Early warlords and nobles cherished the Vizsla or Hungarian pointer breed, which they used to hunt hares and feathered games. These dogs were bred to be both pointers and retrievers. The people of Maygar were said to have utilized the Vizslas as royal and trustworthy hunting partners.
