“Diverged,” the second of six bonus episodes of The Walking Dead Season 10, Episode 21, centers on Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride). This also indicated that Dog, Leah’s (Lynn Collins) previous pet, who is currently Daryl’s, would be returning.
Since “Diverged” was a stand-alone, compact episode of the AMC series, Dog made many appearances. Dog devoted a significant portion of the episode to attempting to catch a rat. Many fans were also left wondering just what breed Dog is in light of his comeback.
A Belgian Malinois named Seven plays the role of Dog on The Walking Dead. Many people mistake this breed of Belgian shepherd dog for a German shepherd.
Nonetheless, the two breeds differ in a variety of ways. Compared to Belgian Malinois, German shepherds are typically bigger and have longer fur.
However, they serve as police and military dogs in addition to being employed as herders, much like German shepherds.

As Dog in The Walking Dead demonstrates, actors may be trained in the same way as police canines are trained. Dog’s past was revealed in the “Find Me” episode directed by David Boyd, who told the Huffington Post of the animal performer, “This guy has a brain, and he’s got an acting spirit.” You think in advance that this dog will never do anything. After reading the screenplay, you decide that, “Okay, he goes there, stops there, and barks there.” It is not going to occur. Getting a single thing out of this dog is going to take 19 hours. However, no. Grab one. Whoa! We proceed, all right. We exchange glances and ask, “Well, do we?”
“The danger with this breed is that they just won’t give up,” he stated in reference to the breed. Therefore, if you lose communication with them and give the dog a task to complete in the real world, it will actually drop everything to complete it. Therefore, we all need to be aware of how far that dog will travel, but especially trainers. That person is going to run through the woods if you lose contact.”
Meanwhile, Leah actor Lynn Collins told Den of Geek about Seven, saying, “The trainers are amazing and he is very easy to work with and comfortable on set.” Therefore, it was quite simple to simply sit with him, give him affection, and pet him. I believe they actually said, “Lynn, stop playing with him,” at one point. He won’t be able to concentrate. This dog was that affectionate and nice.”
